Coming to an end*

ok so I'm ashamed to say that its been 4 months since my last update well, 3 months, since it the start of November.

Since July things at work went normally, when i say normally i mean still little work but i was still a part of something, but i was stuck on this project for like 2 months, if u had to see my PSS portfolio u would be like 'is that it?' haha well i was in and out of work in September and first week of October, so it would explain why.
Mid of September i joined the ArchitectureSA 2012 that was at the Cape Town City Hall. This conference and lectures were much more interesting than sitting in the office. i got more insight of the architecture world than i would from my colleagues at work. i was very glad to have gone since it boosted my inner sense for design and to be an architect.
Then towards end of September and first week of October, it was our last block week at campus. Have so much to say towards that experience but to put it in simple words, it was definitely an experience. learnt how to use tools and do heavy duty work, felt like one of the guys at one point haha, but it was fun. built a fun looking shade around a container that will be used as a library for a multi-grade school.
As there is much to say about those experiences, they will be good memories but things are coming to an end, or the year and time at the office... well my time at the office had to come to an end very much earlier than expected as I fell very ill this mid -October and due to circumstances the doctor asked me to stay home and recover for the next month or so.

So now tomorrow is final hand in for PSS and im hoping that it is enough for me to pass to 3rd year and so i can be reunited with my fellow friends and peers again and be back in action with studies.
This year has been a tough one but all in all i survived and made it out, still fighting and getting there. Just cant wait for this year to end and be back to studies in 3rd year next year.

Well I wish everyone well for the last 2 months of the year, time flew by very fast. Have a beautiful festive season with friends and family and also an amazing holiday.
I'm not sure when i will return back on here but this is a Good bye from me for this year.

Have a great one
keep well all :)
And remember to always keep smiling and be positive :D

Trying to find myself

Ok so back on here after 2 months... wow didnt think i was gone that long. But there is not much to update on my side in the working world. During that time i thought of getting a new job because work is slow and they digging for things to give me, so i went job hunting and that was unsuccessful.
Well in the office I got a few things to do, a lot of admin though, more details and so much more sketch up work, which i think i am pretty good at by now. Pity though that i don't know how to use revit because most of their work are done on there and when they relise i don't know how to use it, they give me something small to do, big downer for me, but im gonna try and teach myself how to use revit now, one night at a time starting from next week. This week still trying to get myself together due to personal reasons, so hope to be back on my feet soon after this weekend.

Well wish me luck and hope for the best.
Will be back soon

So i have had a "busy" month since the last post i made on here, saying it was getting worse... but after that there was a lil progress at work, had two big projects that  is busy proceeding in the office so been helping out with site plans, site analysis, amendments for local authority drawings, a lot of printing and now im back to bathroom layouts, a lil frustrating because now no-one giving me anything to do because they all of a sudden have deadlines and cant have me do a lil help of their work, even after i ask. but its ok, atleast ive got to sit in a couple meetings and got a hang of using sketch-up so im trying not to complain as much.
Hope this week gets more interesting :)

Getting worse...

Ok so we had a  long weekend last week and short 4 day week and i totally forgot to come on here and update my life in the working world... well nothing has changed, no progress of getting new work at the office has come for me. well they are working on a new project at the office and guess what every architects nightmare is >>> getting to do bathroom layouts... yep so i was stuck with that for a week and a half.... ai now im starting to really stress becorz i have so far learnt nothing in the working world, ive only been once to a site visit, i sat in one meeting to a project i was never involved in which is till ok but nothing else, seriously now? even after telling the manager im getting nothing practical for me to do in the office, that im going to look for another job if this carries on but nope nothing changes except being told that i have to learn how to use google sketch up... now i cant wait for campus in june, puts me in the swing to work and be wanted as an architect and next year is going to be a good one, hoping that i pass through this year  :(... well im at the giving up stage but still pulling through as weeks get worse for me... well if anything new or good pops up i shall be updating u guys... cioa

Doubt*

My weeks don't feel like they are getting any better and I'm putting doubt into my decision that this excitement for this job would get me some experience. From small things like details and renovations for the past two month to now just small amendments to sectional elevations, like adding on annotations, dimensions and replacing the existing elevation with an updated one my colleague had done... this is now a new week and im stil busy with it, well i just completed the last elevation today. tomorrow predicting she might just tell me to just do some changes on those same drawings and not new ones.... i think after im told that i shall stand my ground and ask for more, if they cant provide anything, i think that i shall start looking for a new job :(... aahhh what an emotionally stressful week...
and yet another begins :(... well hope everyone else is having a good one and good start to the week...

First month scratched....

So last week was my last week of the first month i spent at Vivid architects and i must say the first month was something i was def not expecting... i did learn a lot but expected a bit more, well all im doing is keeping the patience to hoping i'll get more than just renovations, schedules and details... last week was a short one, spent only 3 days at work got the drawings completed for the clients and they were happy with it and i was given the go ahead to draw up the schedule of the new door to be put in for the new shop. The other 2 days to end the week off at campus for our second block, which was highly informative and great to see everyone again, all we did was carry on with our community hub project and a few lecures for ctd and modernism in south africa.

Well that was my last week of my first month in the working world.... keeping hopes it gets better... cheers :)

3rd week gone

Yet again an uninteresting week has passed, been busy with more details of the same project as last week but towards the end of the week, I had recieved a new job to do at a shop in the V&A Waterfront...well its a renovation to be done at Vaughan Johnson's Wine Shop. This shop is pretty big, around 309msq, they want to turn that shop into 2, so all i had to do was go to the shop measure up the area in which they wanted the new shop, see where the dry wall is to be placed and a new door for the new shop. Didnt take too long, since the owners had give us the original bas plan of the shop and i needed to check up for a few more measurements...
And well that was my week, so far starting off slowly with recieving work to do... and had recieved a new brief from campus for STW, these work from my campus will be uploaded on my pages according to its subjects to it abreviations, on the right-hand side column of this blog.
Will keep u posted, cheers :)
